If your boyfriend/girlfriend consistently texts one person of the opposite sex, is it okay?

I don't think that is okay.

Consistently texting someone of the opposite sex could actually spur feelings, it may not be intended to catch feelings.

But when there's someone other than your partner with whom you text consistently, you tend to tell him/her all your troubles.

If you have an argument with your spouse, the first person you want to tell about it, is your supposed new friend.

In a bid to sympathize with you, you both may end up doing stuff you never planned for.

This shouldn't be. In order to avoid this, ensure you stay away from such kind of relationship except your partner is away of it.

I don't think there is anything wrong with it. What if the person he or she is always texting has been a friend before you guys started dating?

If you trust your partner there will be no problems. We all need friends, and gender should not matter.
