This is a whole new way of looking at the bible for me. Every story is a lesson to each and every one of us and the words of wisdom and advice are to serve as a guide that we may not lose our way in this world and in our journey to the next.
Psalm 119:105: "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path"
God truly loves and cares for us and so He wrote us a manual (The Bible) for how to operate in the earth so that we won't have to learn some things the hard way.
