for a long time we have been divided by these "invaders" of our sacred space, and many (most) of the surface population have been taught (even through violence) to see words such as "serpent" and "witch" as negative, and therefore can't seem past these judgements once negatively interpreted
when we translate these words into more accessible (or commonly used or accepted) terms, for example "energy vortex" (serpent) and "energy practitioner" (witch), this information can easily reach more people who can then empower themselves with these insights and tools
