Resteeming bots and their followers.

Hi Friends!
We reached a milestone!

ResteemBot - 100.png

2000 FOLLOWERS!

Yep!
2000

For some of you this might not seem impressive. After all - there are people with much, Much bigger following.
But I am proud. A humble bot that does not produce content, managed to get big, and to attract so many people.
Without even 1 fake follower.
@Resteembot would never bribe followers, nor would it follow to get followed.
The @Resteembot's followers are all real people, who want to be heard, and who want to hear others.

When checked with the Dead Followers Tool : http://steemit.deadfollowers.info/
Resteembot scores pretty high:

2006 - Total followers
1799 - True followers
207 - Dead followers

10% of @resteembot's followers have not been active recently.
These are mostly abandoned accounts. It is normal that some people would give up, after failing to get rich with steemit.

Let's look at another bot : @reblogger

@Reblogger is a lot newer, 21 days old, and has ~150 followers.
Unlike me, @reblogger takes a fixed price for resteems - 0.050 SBD or STEEM (basically 5 cents)
Of it:

148 Total followers
147 True followers
1 Dead followers

The stats of @reblogger look even better, but remember - it is a new bot.
Some of the people using it haven't yet had the time to decide wether to stay or walk away.
I am guessing that after a month or two, @rebloggers dead follower ratio will be about 5% (which will still be better than @resteembot's)

Next is @melowd

@melowd is one of these bots that send 0.001 SBD transactions to people, telling them how great their resteems are, and then asking for an overpriced resteem. The price with this one is a whopping 1 SBD.

7631 Total followers
5206 True followers
2425 Dead followers

31.7 % of @melowd's followers are no longer active on steemit.
Notice that it may have 7'631 followers, but it is following the crazy amount of 64'147 people.
I do not know how this scheme works, but it looks fishy...

Lets look at one more : @resteem.bot

The green bot from Berlin (that is yellow now). I had some quarrels with this person, but I can't deny that I liked some of his ideas. It's a bot created 5 days after mine, and it quickly gathered a big following.
He didn't have any fixed price, and didn't require for users to follow him.
He also promissed to give the earned money back to the community in his initial post, which I think is very generous of him.

But there is a catch, isn't there?
If you don't have to follow @resteem.bot, then how does he find any followers? Who's watching the content he resteems?

After deciding to not force it's users to follow, @resteembot had no other option, but to get followers by other means.
He has 4'118 followers and he is following 34'936 people. (looks a lot like @melowd)

4118 Total followers
3446 True followers
672 Dead followers

@resteem.bot has 16.3 % Dead followers.
The percentage is bigger than @resteembot, and A LOT bigger than @reblogger, but at the same time, almost twice smaller than @melowd

Unlike with @melowd, @resteem.bot has a legitimate reason for using this trick - To give freedom to his own users. (The freedom of not having to follow him.) I respect that (Even if I do not respect the person himself.)

But even if I respect that choice, I do not agree with it.
I believe that only an audience interested in content is a good audience for resteems.
This is why I do not scheme for followers.
This is why I forced my users to follow me.

I gave you the numbers.
Give me your opinions in the comments.

Sort:

= 16% dead followers.
@resteem.bot

Lol. Seems like a lot of people gave up the last few days...

Anyway. I actually don't understand how your follower thing works.
Do people follow you just because you follow them?
I'm not gonna use it anyway, so don't worry about copping you. ;) Haha.

Congratulations @resteembot :) Keep it up!!
