I know what you mean. You could probably easily emulate dozens of those with power to spare. I would imagine that with the average PC today you could emulate the entirety of the BBS scene at its height...though that would be a nightmare to set up...or alternatively, host everything that online services of the day like CompuServe did with ease. I know there was some effort to get Quantum Link (a Commodore 64 specific online service) up and running again but I'm not sure what the status of that is...
