RE: Consider the power of your flag.

in #rewards8 years ago (edited)

Thanks for looking out for the community. When you brought this up to me I did have a talk and was assured that the message would be understood.
However it seems that it's not.

Unfortunately we cannot tell people not to sell their whaleshares or beyondits since they earned or won them legitimately.

Please understand that we can't control the actions of the people who invest in the service either. Especially when they don't care or understand.

At this point it's not a matter of him being unjustly rewarded because he is investing in a service where the community- who legitimately earned or won these whaleshares or beyondbits- are being rewarded. His ROI is shit tbh.

This is simply a matter of perception concerning the integrity of the service and the platform- to which I think the community WOULD be very willing to resolve.

Unfortunately some major stake holders have beat down any insurrection with force or threat thereof.

The platform is rife with voting rings and rewards abuse. Check out the self vote rape on some top rewarded people here. https://steemwhales.com/trending/

Nobody will resolve these issues because they don't have the power and fear retribution. And others will even argue "It's not against the rules".

small fry like this will keep popping up because they see how easy it is to get away with when steemit inc, witnesses and society alike won't fully denounce the actions.

We need solid mechanisms in place to discourage this behavior. Yet there's no profit in that. There is only the promise of a fruitful future- to which nobody seems to care.

I understand your perspective and appreciate very much your engaging in the conversation. I was very careful not to attack or accuse whaleshares, as I understand they are operating a business on the blockchain and I am grateful to smart people who know how to build stuff.

It would be nice if they helped clean up their mess.

I understand we have much bigger problems on the trending page, I guess maybe addressing that one may take me out of the game.

I appreciate that you're not attacking or accusing whaleshares. Unfortunately aside from civil dialogue, there is not much we can do about the issue.

It would be like asking randowhale, minnowsupport or booster to flag or blacklist people who "don't deserve the upvote they paid for"

I truly wish that Fuzzy could clean up steemit's mess. I'm sure he would if he actually had the ability. He is selflessly doing amazing things for a lot of people. I believe it's miles more than any other person on steemit.

The reality is that we only have the power to provide people with lessons and opportunities, yet have no way of controlling how they act. Nonetheless, the person has been spoken to and understands the risks of continuing this behavior.

We will see how it all turns out.

I am not interested in debating the pros and cons of Fuzzy. I am interested in the survival of the platform.

I've interpreted this as a hostile comment :-(
I hope I'm wrong in my assessment.

Hostile? I said I didn't want the post to turn into debating Fuzzy. lol.
I have never spoken to him. I have no personal experience with him.
I wanted the post to be about the investors and flags and power of the community, not about fuzzy.

I am annoyed nobody from Whaleshares wants to help fix the problem.
I also help minnows every day... Maybe I am just doing it wrong. Have a nice night.

Sorry, I was pointing out that he has benefited the platform. Since you specifically mentioned him in the post I thought it was fair to say he is not responsible for people's actions.

I am affiliated with whaleshares and I have attempted to fix the problem. It's true that I am nobody, but at least I've tried.

Have you asked randowhale to remove the vote or flag him?

I didn't ask whaleshares to remove their vote either.
