It would be nice to see it picked up by major institutions but I doubt that will happen in the near future, sadly. If you hold the coin for >3 years, it could have potential then. Rumors of companies picking it up or starting to use it have caused the price to bounce and be on its upward trend at the moment, but those are just rumors for now. :/

My opinion is that is a long-term hold. We'll see a $10 value by the end of 2018
Definitely a long-term hold. I predicted xrp to be around $4 by February back in November and I think we can hit closer to $20 by the end of the year honestly.
