Ripple promises fast international transactions for banks, but PayPal already offers such features. What is the real difference between these two technologies and what is the point of Ripple when PayPal already exists? What do you think about Ripple vs Bitcoin? Leave your thoughts in the comment section!

To really understand how Ripple works and what XRP digital asset is I recommend this video I did a couple of days ago:

Good explanation. Following you here & ob youtube.

Hi Ivan, welcome to steemit 🚀🚀🚀🚀

I'm subscribed on your youtube channel, but anyway it is great to see you here. 👍👍👍👍🔥🔥🔥🔥

P.S. Agreed with all your statements according to ripple. It has been pumped mostly because the noob buyers buy based the price without considering the functionality and capitalization... The most speculative market was the korean one. Since the korean exchanges have been removed from the CMC , the ripple price droped up to 30%.

Very nice review!

thanks man for sharing

So informative! Thank you!

Just say no to centralized projects.
It's not that hard.

hahaha, great comment, you made my day! I completely agree with you! 😜

It is amazing how people are supporting Ripple when it is basically central bank-backed and that is what we want to get away from...

or maybe ripple is just a hedge. I believe in decentralization, but i also have some ripple.

haha yeah you are right ! :D We all should know where the money comes from. There is no space for centralized projects in this world anymore. #WeShouldKnow #CentralismSUCKS

I totally agree that there should be no support for these kinds of projects but in the short term Ripple seems to be a good investment, to a lot of people, since it has the backing of the current establishment.

A good investor should judge when something is overvalued and should not invest in that case. For now Ripple seems to be a decent investment especially for people who are not really looking to change the world but just make a quick buck. Of course there are still pitfalls like the fact that it is pre-mined and the centralization issue.

At the point where there is a proven technology that rivals the current established financial institutions we can all agree that projects like Ripple will not be supported since there will be a clear alternative but in the short run I am not aware of a project like this. A lot of them are on the way but nothing that is battle tested as of yet.

Thanks for the summary on XRP. I really don't think XRP is solving anything new in the financial space. I'm interested to see if they can maintain their momentum.

Ripple is NOT a crypto. It is a glorified centralized database run by a bunch of guys who wants to have fancy titles next to their name. A real crypto will never have a “ceo” or a “cto” or a “cfo.” A true crypto is decentralized and have no need for any of those fancy title.

Great video, as always!

Great review, keep it up Ivan

The only reason ripple is pumping is a lot of newbies came into the space and are throwing around their dirty fiat money into 'tokens' that are created by centralized goons of the same order, brilliant populace.

Good video. Nice work.

If someone want to learn how to earn money on steam check out my guide about several ways to earn money on steam https://steemit.com/money/@quison/several-ways-to-make-money-on-steam

Ripple is making it complicated to use their systems with minimums and such so for now PayPal is better but hopefully ripple is changing

yes ripple the banksters coin, freeze your ripple coins without warning they can so read the whitepaper and take a look on youtube at the transactions of millions of ripple being pumping by bankers the ripple price so people will think what a great coin so they buy it and it goes higher then the banksters sell millions of ripple and make big profits at the highs then ripple goes down in price and poor ordinary investor loses his/her money when panics and sells at loss , then repeat by bankers and the pump and dump happens again and the rich bankers get richer and the ordinary workers lose their money by selling in a panic when price plummets like today

I agree with your opinion!!

Relax and HODL. ;)
Don't get my wrong, I am not a big ripple fan, but selling in a panic happens to every cryptocurrency. as well the dump and pump thematic.

Doesn't Paypal still run on SWIFT?

Nice post and video
Good luck friend

HEY! IVAN! THANKYOU FOR ALL THE HARD WORK YOU PUT IN FOR THE COMMUNITY!! THANKS! YOU ARE AWESOME BUDDY!
MUCH LOVE AND RESPECT FROM A DEPRECIATING THIRD WORLD ECONOMY!

There are a lot of people who are afraid of crypto currencies. All some people know comes from the documentary about the take down of the silk road and how bitcoin funded all the illegal things that were happening there. It is true ripple is centralized, but it may also provide a stepping stone for people to start to embrace crypto currency through something familiar. It is very possible that ripple is a necessary evil and will hopefully open the door for the masses.

The thing that gives me faith about the long term value of XRP is unlike most other crytos, XRP has a direct usage as of right now.

Being backed by the banks might be considered a bad thing from a philosophical perspective, but in terms of business value, the banks (unfortunately) still have lots to say

tl;dr buy xrp, sell your soul

i think they both have good use cases, i don't like to see competition but instead partnerships and learning from other projects to improve their own, like paypal could learn a thing or two about ripple or other crypto's :D

how do you think or your prediction about bitcoin price in 2018 whether it will be increasing or going down.
I just want to survey some people's opinion

Bitcoin will hit $50,000 by August for sure

I have used PayPal for many years, and I use it for business, as well as having a PayPal Business Card, allowing me instant access to funds either via an ATM or paying companies, it also manages my accounts as ALL invoices produced by my company allows me to keep track of accounts, run analytics on our business performance. I know I pay over the odds in fees, but there is a lot of trust factor there as well as convenience.

Hi there! I have a question for you. As you explained you are an avid user of PayPal, what are your thoughts on Ripple, as an investment and just generally? I have been researching it quite a bit and see a variance of opinions in the crypto world regarding the use of this technology.

It is something I am going to take a look at, the issue I have is that I accept PayPal via my website, it is a trusted platform for most businesses, having said that, I am considering on our next rebuild to accept Cryptocurrencies as an alternative. The only cons against, is that most businesses that shop with me either pay via PayPal or Bank Transfer, and either way they receive an invoice via PayPal. So for me, I apologise but cannot really comment on it as an investment option. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Thank you for your honest answer!

i hate paying the fees on paypal

Video yang sangat bagus, # @ivanli

Great post! Upvoted!! I would really like to see more of your posts!

I love the idea of explaining Ripple by comparing and contrasting it with something more familiar to most people like Paypal. Great job!

Instead of PayPal, use Payoneer wherever possible. You will end up saving a lot of money.

Great views in comparing ripple with Bitcoins.... Cryptocurrency rocks

I've made a little off of Ripple, but about zero trust in it. My plan is to get out after coinbase adds it to its app.

Thank you my brother, the coin is a good coin, but the statem is better than it is because it is a continent currency and has great foundations

@ivanli thanks for making it simple to understand.

banksters sell millions of ripple and make big profits at the highs avoid ripple its a bankers coin, 50% owned by 2 people and some by their friends and some alleged insider trading on youtube vids and 900 million ripple sold in 5 mins in december pumping the price dumping the coins after taking big profits a bankers greed a bankers coin a bankers snout in the pigs trough of ripple centralized coin for the bankers made by the bakers for the bankers o screw the public out of their savings

Real nice post...

Love your prediction buddy

I will not under any circumstances invest in Ripple. Those who do don't understand decentralization or aren't paying attention. Also will avoid Stellar for the same reason (both in top 10 of market cap right now).

Eagerly awaiting your Academy course Feb 1, btw. (I've been a software dev for 20+ years).

Great explanation, @ivanli. I really like and believe in the idea of a currency being decentralized; I really believe having decentralized crypto will prevent a government, like Greece, from locking down assets. XPR sounds like a technology that can streamline transactions for big big institutions. If the banking industry gets behind XPR, it will be a great investment.

What do you think of XLM? I find that it follows XRP's price trend.

Nice summary of major points with great explanation! Rome wasn’t built in a day, it’s gonna take time till banks will be willing to use it, but they will, finally, or at least something similar. It’s their basic interest. The competition has started, known institutions have joined it, and using Ripple has quite clear advantages. I think Ripple just stepped out of early adopter stage. There’s no sense in comparing with other coins. Its creating has a clear purpose, and its price should be more stable and it will never compare to other cryptocurrencies.

Thanks for your explanation. It really helpful!
PAYPAL is using banking system actually.
Ripple is creating a new gateway.

Great post here bro, i don't mess with ripple have be decentralize for me

ripple is coin but paypal is money system . Ripple is will gain power.

Awesome sir for this.

Good explanation and easy to follow examples. Ripple still has more room to move of course. Will it be the coin of the future.....way to early to tell. However can you make more money with Ripple I feel YES.

Thank you for sharing

I enjoy listing to Ivan from a programmer point of view keep up the good work.
