Just like the title itself, "Code Mistake" means that a certain someone or character was never meant to be born or was never meant to exist in the first place. The code mistake brings the themes of isolation, struggle, and doubt with a certain identity. The lyrics are divided into the feeling of being different from others and the pain and beauty that comes with it. The lines "if pain is beauty, I'm a pretty bitch" and "Running from myself, I can't blame 'em when they leave" suggests that one sees his own pain and uniqueness as a burden, causing others to distance themselves from him. The chorus emphasizes the desire to break from society's expectations and norms. The repetition of "I will never be them" summarizes a sense of individuality and refusal to conform. The reference of "time slips away", "burn out, don't fade" could suggest the fear of wasting away or losing oneself in the process of searching for identity.

Overall, "Code Mistake" delves into the inner turmoil and longing for acceptance that can come with feeling like an outsider, inviting listeners to reflect on their own struggles with identity and society's pressures.
