Shoutout to @monsterjamgold for getting me in to this one. It is a little bit different than the games I have played recently, but very similar to some games I played 20 years go.
This game has a higher time commitment requirement if you want to continue to use your resources, and not let them sit idle at 100%. While it requires a lot more monitoring - the actual play time is pretty quick. Within a few mouse clicks I am usually back to watching the clock for an hour.

Keeping Investments low
I am trying to keep my initial investments low and only use my earnings for leases, UTOPIS and some token sales to buy STARBITS. I did buy 5 slices of cold Pizza and 4 Pizza boxes using whatever method was the cheapest. I am also buying individual cards as I need them to build skill, fans, instruments, or luck to help progress faster.
I am buying as many STARTBITS as I can until I reach the 1M club. There is a special mission you can do once a day if you unlock it that pays 10k STARBITS. Right now it seems like a really smart idea, but we will see. I have a long ways to go to unlock it.
Strategy -
I spend most of my time looking at the best ways to use my Energy - while trying to keep my EGO low or offset them with lessons. Sometimes it is easier to just go buy a card to make up the difference. I will spend a lot of time looking for cards with good or preferred balance, and then shop them. Some cards have prices all over and I need to convert to find the best deal. Other cards will have similar starts by cost significantly less.
PIZZA
If you buy anything, it should be some cold pizza and a box to start with. Cold Pizza will refresh every 24 hours, and a box will let you store found pizza. I try to never have all my pizza boxes full since I would consider it wasteful to get fully recharged if I still have 30-40% energy.
Packs
Packs only have 3 cards, and after Splinterlands, it just fees like I should get 5. I will buy packs when I earn 100k STARBITS - I think. But after playing SL and other games, my luck seems best to buy what I want, and not gable. I tend to not hit home runs, and would be better off if I had just bought what I needed.
