Getting started.
Putting something in. Most will consider this to be finance. With @risingstargame there is no requirement to pay any finance. You can play free and still grow in the game. With no finance invested. You will need to invest time.
Some of the images in this beginner guide will not match what you see at the start.
This is because the illustrations used are from an account that has ben active for some time.
Screenshots are taken on a desktop and may appear different on mobile device's.

Start a mission
This is where your Journey begins.
You are granted a Busker card to give you some fans.
Your opening screen will have only 1 mission available for you. Illegal Busking.
This mission will need to be done ten times to open the next mission. This is the only way to start. Buying packs or not everyone has to go through this process of doing missions.

Account with levels ranging from 72 rising to 110 are available for sale. This can cut out months of growing to those levels.

Game Play.
It is mandatory to go through the missions and complete the required amount to move to the next one. There are some items in game that can increase the speed at which you can do this. These items can be seen in the cards page under the booster tab.
You will notice there are two options for Pizza. One is a slice and the other a box.

Pizza Slice Refills your energy back to 100% at the time of use. The slice then goes in to a 24 hour cool down before it can be used again.

Pizza Box catches random pizza drops from missions. It stores the pizza until you want to use it. If all of your boxes are full, the pizza drop is used immediately and your energy refills.
A combination of both works best for most people. How many you need is determined by how many times you visit the game each day. To know if you need more is easy. If you are constantly running out of energy. More pizza Slices or boxes are needed.
I like the slices much better than the box myself. Though I still have more boxes than I need.

Coffee Cup gives a three energy and additional % for a period of one hour.
Stacking works.
Using more than one coffee at a time really boosts recovery of energy. Only use six maximum at a time and only use six if your energy is at 0.
Best to do this when your pizza boxes are empty too on the lower timed missions. This provides more opportunity for random pizza drops.
I think Pizza Slices are better value to purchase than the coffee cups
Whiskey Bottle stores drunk fans.
Drunk fans are gained randomly at the end of a mission and they last for 12 hours. If all bottles are full. Drunks are added to the active fan count.

Strategies.
Sorry, I can't give you one. The variations within the game and also to the individual is too vast to give a general strategy.
Your goals starting off should be to get through the levels. The game is how you get there. Gaining levels is the essential part of the start.
A need for Pizza Slices is there if you spend anytime in the game. Or you could just do a few missions a day.
The game works around fans luck and skill. (Ego also needs to be kept in check, this kicks in at level 15 or 1000 fans.) I am sure another complication will come down the road with IM too.
Those three are all interlinked and you need to find what numbers suit your style of play best.
Fans
Fans are what give the reward. The more fans you have, the more people attend your events and buy tickets.
Your fan level is the total of all card fans, drunk fans and ego fans.
Skill
If you have more fans than you have skill. Your fans are probably your momma and grandma. Skill level must be kept higher than your fan level.
Luck
The amount of luck you have determines the number of drunk fans you gain randomly from mission drops. The time length of the mission is also taken in to account here.
Luck also determines the skill gained from doing music lessons. The total of your luck is not used here.
The luck from instruments is. Again not all of your instruments.
If you are doing a singing lesson. All of the Mic's you have. The combined Luck from all of them is used to calculate the skill gained from the lesson.
The same for guitars. The combined Luck from all Guitar is used to calculate the skill from a lesson.
