Risingstars - Perspective from a newbie

in #risingstars2 years ago

After hearing about Rising Stars from a Splinterlands twitch stream, on Saturday (1/1/21) I decided to create an account. I already had a hive account because I play Splinterlands occasionally so it was easy enough. At first, I had no idea what to do.

I figured out that I need to complete some missions. Pretty straightforward stuff…

After a bit I decided I would buy a pack of cards which was very simple because I could use DEC. All I had to do was transfer some DEC from my Splinterlands account to Hive. In my first pack I received 2 common people and an epic Janine. I quickly replaced the starter card and began using her. At some point yesterday, I decided to buy 12 more packs because I thought I should try and get some other types of cards and maybe it would allow me to level up faster. Keep in mind, I still have no idea what I am doing.
In these 12 packs I received a cheap car (sweet!), several instruments including an epic set of drums, several epic people. I added the car to my lineup, but don’t have a high enough level I guess to add anyone else or any instruments.

Now at this point, I kind of feel like I am getting the hang of things. Although, now that I purchased all of these cards, all of the sudden I have ego at 42% (what is that?), a lot more fans, and quite a bit of luck.

From what I can gather, I need to get a pizza box and a coffee cup, which I guess I could buy from the marketplace. Or should I buy more packs to try and get these?

Today, day 3, has me at level 5 and almost 1,000 starbits.

But what should I do with these starbits? Should I stake them in the record area? Should I just save them? Should I buy more packs or wait? If I’m lucky, I will suck just as much at this game as I do at Splinterlands.

Sincerely ,

Newbie/ boomer just trying to figure things out ;)

Any advice is appreciated!

I don't know if you've already figured it out but EGO makes you get less starbits per mission.
