A whole bunch of nothing is beautiful if you know what to look for

in #roadtrip6 years ago (edited)

Dodge road, rt 2 in Nebraska. Heading from the Badlands into Colorado where we would be spending the weekend at Gunnison National Park.

The drive from South Dakota to Gunnison was extremely long, but offered some amazing farm land scenary and a small piece of what used to be of this land.

The sky was massive. Extending from as far you could see in any direction and at night, you could see every star and constellation you wanted to see.

During the day you could watch massive rain clouds miles and miles away drop rain on to the 1000 acre ranch lands and farms. Then you could witness the power of the sun break through those massive rain clouds and eventually break the rain cloud up entirely.

What a drive it was. A whole bunch of nothing is beautiful if you know what to look for.

During our 200+ Mile drive through these farm lands, we noticed a very old school on the side of the road and decided to take a pit stop and check it out. This is on Dodge Rd , rt 2 in Nebraska. A small piece of history that tells a long story by just looking at it.

And some wild horses to finish it off. This was a small adventure we had on my trip. Please follow me for more, larger adventure posts soon to come!

Just getting the hang of Steemit , any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated :)

I don't know that I've ever been to Nebraska, sure is a different kind of beauty though, nice pics. As far as Steemit goes, it takes awhile to develop a following. I like you're posts, good content and informative, all I can say is don't get to discouraged if you post something that you think is really good and then get only a penny or two or nothing (that was the hardest thing for me early on but I've gotten use to it now and don't worry about it anymore as it is what it is), it just takes time. Anyways, good luck.

Thank you, i appreciate the advice. My plan is to stick with it and keep on truckin. I'm in it for the long run.

One question I have is I've been debating on investing money into Steem power, but I'm trying to figure out if I should build a larger following or just do it now. Any feedback on when a good time to put actual money into this would be? Or does it just boil down to personal preference

I would time your investments into the Steemit platform i.e. Steem Power (SP) based on the crypto sector in general, hence now would be a good time to invest in SP as the price of steem is down (not to say it can't go lower but this would be a good entry point in my opinion as the price of Steem is well of it's highs). Of course, there's no need to rush any investment into anything if you wanted to get a feel for the Steemit platform first. Of, course now that we are having this conversation the crypto market is trending higher, go figure.

Haha the crypto market has been the main cause for my hair loss over the last 6 months. I've been keeping an eye on it as well and will time it accordingly, thank you :)

Keep doing what you’re doing! I would actually recommend staying brief with your posts (this is the perfect length) as I find that the trade off in time vs reward is not worth the effort. I’m not even talking money, either. I think the name of the game for us newbies is to build up a list of followers first, and the best way to do that is with frequent posting and constant engagement with others. If you take 4 hours to write and edit a long post (like I did when I started) and it nets you zero new followers, it just doesn’t seem worth it to me. There is an argument to be made about building a portfolio of work, but this site is not set up for scrolling back to see earlier posts conveniently, so those first few posts are just going to get buried in the pile.

Just my opinion! Loving your format (pics, narrative, reflection). Keep up the great work!

Appreciate the feedback and agree on all fronts! Thanks for the consistent comments man, let's grow together!
