Rohingya crisis, why China is beside Myanmar?

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang E is visiting Bangladesh on Saturday to discuss the Rohingya crisis. Despite China's friendly relations with China, Rohingya crisis has taken China's position on behalf of Myanmar in the China forum.

What is the role behind China's role? Geopolitical or diplomatic calculations? Former Ambassador and diplomat Analyst Humayun Kabir explained this position in China.

He said, to understand why China's position is to understand their own perspective. Their view of the state behind the role of China and their geopolitical or strategic estimates are working.

'The security and solidarity of any state to China is a major issue. The Rohingya question has been defined by Myanmar as the first of its state's integrity and security, that the Rohingya have been called as terrorists.

'It is in line with China's own country-of-the-art philosophy. Not only that, China has its own Muslim-majority region in the west. They also worry about such problems.

The former ambassador said that when China talks of Rohingya problems from Myanmar, they think that there is a problem like this - they too can be.

Therefore, it is the trend that China, Russia or India are all-inclined to place the state on top of everyone else and accept any other losses. What is China's strategic calculations? In response to this question, he said China's import products include fuel or oil-gas. These products are in the Malacca system.

China is very aware that if the United States is threatened by any conflict, then the United States can block the system. It's in their strategic thinking. That is why they want to use a path directly to the Bay of Bengal. Meanwhile, from Myanmar's Akiab port, China has started supplying oil and gas through pipeline to Yunan or Kunming. There was also a railway track. Without it, they will have economic zones.

"Keeping the supply line open by bypassing the Malacca route - so a great strategic thinking of standing beside the countries that are supporting them is playing a role in determining what China's position will be.

But taking shelter from six hundred Rohingyas in Bangladesh to Myanmar has already become a major humanitarian crisis. Why is China still supporting Myanmar?

In response, Humayun Kabir said, "It will be seen that China's position is not absolute in this regard." Like China, Myanmar is a friend, as well as the details of Rohingyas' torture, China has been a bit embarrassed.

'There is evidence that when the presidential statement came in the Security Council - then China or Russia did not oppose it.'

This proposal clearly shows the events against Myanmar's government and the military. China has played a silent role there. So I think the visit of Chinese Foreign Minister to Dhaka is very important. Because earlier, when we had a problem with Bangladesh in Myanmar, we got China in the role of a diplomatic, could go ahead to solve the problem.

"Although China or Russia are not on our side, they did not say that they are on the other side. They did not vote in the United Nations. So our diplomacy here has an exploratory place. '

"If China does not have the favor of Bangladesh, at least not against it and if it can be kept in a neutral position, it will also be a positive factor for Bangladesh's diplomacy," said former diplomat Humayun Kabir.
