Hello STEEM blockchain!
I would like to introduce APOCALYPTICA, the newest addition to STEEM’s growing #RPG and #PlayByPost gaming communities.
APOCALYPTICA is a Play By Post Adventure Survival RPG. Step foot into unfamiliar surroundings full of danger, adventure, and intrigue. Explore and navigate a world turned upside down in a matter of seconds after the earth's magnetic poles unexpectedly flip, knocking out power grids and major infrastructure worldwide.
A once highly advanced society heavily reliant on AI and large scale energy production now grapples with the aftermath of a catastrophic event that has triggered volcanic eruptions, powerful earthquakes, tsunamis, and massive global storms setting humankind back hundreds possibly thousands of years.
Almost everything as we know it has been lost, and now more than ever we must persist, persevere, and rebuild.
Travel solo or work as a Team to gather food, find shetler, craft gear, and fend off foes. Go one step further and begin to piece together the events leading up to the pole shift. As the mystery deepens you may discover that not everything is as it appears.
Participation in daily events and play will allow players to earn XP which is used towards leveling up your character. In addition to XP players may earn crafting materials, new gear, and in-game digital currency. Items such as weapons, armour, mechanical and tech gadgets can be collected, traded, crafted, or looted in-game after completing missions, solving puzzles, and defeating bosses.
Once created, an APOCALYPTICA character can be used in all future games. Characters continually evolve as they gain XP, level up their skills, learn new traits, and acquire stronger weapons, armour, and gear. In the future some mini games or dungeons may require that a character meet a minimum level requirement in order to gain access.
Full game mechanics will be released at a future date.
This is an Adult Oriented game and some scenarios may be more suitable for an adult audience. While the game is in development, existing elements may change significantly as we work towards creating the best version of the game possible. Our target start date for the initial test run is currently early October 2018.
Project Goals
Create a game that is creative, fun, interactive and engaging.
Focus on continuous character development and an engaging story line.
Automate player stats, inventory, and in-game lootable items.
Build a decentralized digital asset market on the STEEM blockchain to facilitate buying, selling, and trading of in game items.

Hey @happyme, thanks for the support! was thinking the game can have it's own account so that people interested in the game can follow along and get updates but not have to also get non-game related updates..
Ah... that makes sense if you are posting lots of other non-game-related stuff.
I like the idea... along the lines of @papa-peppers apocalypse contests last year.

I remember his game, I was really intrigued by the concept and by how well the game was received! I'll be incorporating some of those choose your own adventure elements for sure, and then really focusing on character development and progression. I'm hoping if players can feel a sense of ownership with their characters and in-game items the game will be sticky! Thanks for the vote of confidence @doctorcrypto
