hello, since you'll be mining, I would like to offer trade of my lumber for your stone starting next turn. 1 for 1, sound fair?

I support this in principle, but since I don't know how much stone my miner will obtain and I don't know what the stone will be used for or how much it will cost, I reserve the right to not trade if I don't end up having a surplus.
Of course. This is all with the assumption that, you having miners in the mountains, and I having lumberjacks in the forest, would each gain a surplus of one resource and be limited in the other; thus making us potential economic allies. This would be a beneficial partnership. However, you are free to trade (or not) with whomever you wish; I was just offering you a friendly 'first shot' at my potential surplus of lumber from my bountiful forest.
Sounds great. I hope it plays out as you described, but right now wood seems to be more useful than stone. Hopefully the game is constructed such that it's advantageous for us to trade.
