Running rocks, also known as moving stones at the same time, are a geologic phenomenon that speaks of stones moving and leaving long traces on the smooth valley floor without any human or animal intervention. The source of the phenomenon has not been precisely defined, but scientists have argued that the cause of the movement could be strong winds that push the stones over fine clay or wet soil. It has been reported that the heaviest running rocks are about 320 kg.
