That's what I do right now. Since I only start to run more (not even one year ago I was running only once a week), I try new type of shoes to see which ones are the best for me.
And I didn't know your time on a marathon. It's quite impressive and it clearly shows that lighter shoes are not needed to run fast!

As I said, lighter shoes can give you some advantage but the risk of injure is also flying over you then...
I'm not telling you don't use them but do it in very particular moments...
