It's been 5 days since my last run. I felt sore on Sunday during my run and this got worse on Tuesday, so I've been taking it easy since then.
Conditions today were not ideal
Last night it had been snowing, it's still properly winter over here. It is cold and you have to be careful not to slip on ice. Although the forests are now cleared of the fallen trees, it's also very muddy there. unfortunately, the storms of last month have damaged loads of trees and where there used to be dense forests, there are now huge clearings that will take years to regrow.
Under normal circumstances it's not an easy course, which is even more difficult in the winter after a week of no running. In the end we did the course in 1 hour and 3 minutes, which under the circumstances is a good time.

Regardless the circumstances, keep running and stay fit and if you need a motivator, consider joining @runningproject and use the bot @isotonic

Running is meh.
Sorry for the slight challenges, fam.
You don't like running?
That's a good time in tricky conditions. Looks like you have a few hills around there. Run free!
Thanks, yes I live in Switzerland. Difficult not to run in some hills here, but I love it.
I like running too. We have a lot of ice at the moment so it's a bit difficult not to fall down.
Sorry to hear that, how do you cope with that?
I use my treadmill and hope for better weather
LOL! I guess I should get me one as well, if I want to train for a marathon.
I really like sports, especially football, now I do not run because of a knee problem but I love walking and in a landscape like that it is motivating.
Are we talking about the European football or the American Football? I also had knee issues several years back, I only got slowly into running. I started with walking. I hope you recover soon!
I see you have very similar weather conditions. I kind of like running in colder weather. And you had a very nice pace for good 10 km! Onwards and upwards!
Thanks, for us it was a slow time, but I'm happy under the circumstances and I'm still far away from your level to run every day. Where do you live?
In Slovenia, in Ljubljana. And you?
I live in Switzerland, not far from Zürich
Nice. In 2010 I visited Zurich and Geneve. In Zurich, I stopped in Odeon Caffee. I really used to like Heman Hesse's work and I wanted to see where he used to go.
I know where it is, but I've never been there. It's not easy for us to get into town from where we live. I've actually never been to Geneva and Slovenia is also still on my list. I heard it's beautiful there and not very touristy.
It is still not very touristy, but hurry up: each year in less and less so. ;)
Its good that you run. Running is so imoortant for success in anybody... even if you dont do sports because running builds character and will power to keep going and not give up. Keep it up @wolfje
Thanks Bud, yeah the difficulty is really to stay motivated if you haven't ran in a few days due to needing to recover. It's easy to stay at home another day especially when the conditions aren't favourable.
Ya it is annoying with bad conditions. Here where i live it dumped 10 cm of snow so instead of runs i do stationary cycling.
I once ran in 30cm, that was horror, that was definitely my worst 'run'. But I can't cycle, I hate it (says the born Dutchman 😉 ) Do you run a lot?
Yes because i play soccer/football so i run and do bike for training. Running in 30 cm probably really makes you lift you knees up haha
It was probably the best cardio exercise I've ever done
I respect your determination and conviction @wolfje.
Sometimes I struggle to be consistent in my workouts especially when the days here a colder than that of the Caribbean 😎
But I'm getting used to the weather here..a matter of fact , I Just love the cold air flowing through my lungs!
Yeah it's fantastic, but I have to admit it is difficult to motivate yourself if you haven't ran a few days. But when the body says no, you should listen to it. Once I'm running the conditions don't bother me much anymore.
So true!
You did really well despite your sore legs. I hope you do feel better. Your paths do look very slippy, take care.
Thank you, much better now.
be careful
