I've finally started to run

in #running8 years ago (edited)

After a year weight training in the gym and doing virtually no cardio, I've finally started to run. This is in preparation for True Grit, a military inspired 13km (8 Mile) obstacle course race with 30 different obstacles.

I was honestly surprised at how good it felt to run and how well my body handled it. Having a clear goal in mind while running really helped push me and keep me focused. I know I have a long way to go before I'm ready to complete a 13km obstacle race in a decent time but I know if I keep training like this I can do it.

I've also started live streaming my strength workouts! My first stream was last week and it went great. I plan to train and stream 2-3 times per week so feel free to follow if you want to catch me live!

Nice one on getting your first run done, the hardest part is getting out of the door, once you're out it becomes a lot easier. Also another tip is to try and plan your route so you don't have any options to end your run earlier than planned.

Thanks! I love that idea, will definitely plan future runs with that in mind. Appreciate the advice.
