It is early evening when writing this and looking back on the day it seems huge. You see today was launch day. Makina has been splashed!
There was no sleeping in this morning. Up before the alarm had its chance. Showered and a clean t-shirt. Hey, it was a special day! There were still some items to deal with. Another inspection of the keel plug and no matter what Chris texted that it sounded like it should be all right, got another twitch of a turn with a gentle foot stomp on the huge Allen key. There were a few more items as well, like the wind generator, boat hooks... well maybe there were more than a few items. 🙄
The Yard Crew pulled up at 10:00 on the dot and kept rollomg straight in for Makina's cradle; raising it up on the huge trailer. Everything involved in the operation was huge it seemed.
Once the cradle with the boat in it was affixed to the trailer then off she went. As if sailing on land!
Across the length of the Yard she pushed as if the scent of water was drawing her near.
The Yard Crew again amazed as at the very rear of the Yard another HUGE piece of machinery emerged.
As if relieving the weighted down trailer carrying Makina and all her cargo this new blue piece of hugeness now picked up the massive weight of Makina as though taking her into its arms and picking her into the air.
The Blue Monster then carried her slowly and gentle to the water she had been craving...
And gently set her down upon it.
Once the bilge was inspected for water and all seemed ship shape we headed to her new slip.
We have a nice view from our backyard...
You'd think this would be enough for one day, but not on this day of days, my 8th anniversary since opening an account on STEEM.
Eight seems to be a factor in this adventure. My understanding is that numerology attributes infinity to it. What a wild energy merge of this anniversary and the launch of an adventure being chronicled on the same platform which is occasioning the anniversary. 🤪
