Seorang ahli geokimia memberikan penjelasannya.

Trees will generally fall, or at least have broken branches, when hit by a storm. But that does not mean for coconut trees. Trees identical to the torpic climate have exceptional durability during bad weather. But how can that right happen? A geochemist gives an explanation. It is said that the coconut tree is different from other large woody tree species. This makes the coconut tree can withstand the storm. "Instead, you will find a spate of spongy tissue scattered, not regulated," Hope Jahren said in his autobiography entitled "Lab Gril", quoted by Live Science on Monday (18/09/2017). Most woody trees have circular patterns when they are big bodies each year. But coconut trees are different, some of them are easily formed and others can easily be folded and back to their original position. "The lack of conventional structures is what gives coconut the flexibility and makes it able to adjust ... with a slow wind to blend into a terrible storm," Jahren wrote. The structure makes coconut trees thrive in warm, windy tropics. The genus of coconut trees is known to exist as many as 188 species consisting of 2585 species. However, not all coconut trees have the same strength in every region. Coconut trees that are moved to a new place may lose its power. In addition, the wet soil surface also contributes to weakening the grip of the root of the coconut tree so that it can be allowed to be uprooted by the wind sweep.
