Do I interprete that correctly? From the Guppy to a Whale? Nice aquarium! Yes, my point is simply getting impatient with the overall direction of technology. Has it freed us really, or were there merits to stone tablets? Like no 'War and Peace' edition on stone tablets? Maybe a 'libratorium' were everyone can go to read it.
I wonder how many guys like Tondar from 'Caveman' really existed in those days. But I am pretty sure there are more of them now than ever before. Cooperation is the key. And double yes. We're there - at the place where we need to re-evaluate our values and visions.
Maybe, we have not progressed that much overall?
One spin off of this whole STEEM/HIVE fork that looks promising to me is OpenOrchard Project which will likely interface, if not use, much of the open source code of the STEEM/HIVE Project(s). A fair distribution of tokens with no pre-mined (Ninja) tokens is being promised. In my opinion both STEEM and HIVE are demonstrations of the failures in DPoS Governance at present.
P.S.
Yes.
What truly amazes me - albeit not necessarily in pleasant terms - is the unwillingness of the majority to meditate about the present situation as being the inevitable result of previously taken paths and decisions made. Arising from that must be a novel path that no longer accepts suffering and pain as ways to make a living. Making a living should also mean to make a life. Will the masses wake up to the universal truth that tomorrow cannot be better than today, if the today is not the best we are giving in terms of creativity. It is time for some sort of instrumentarium, where everybody gets a chance to participate, not just selected few.
One approach that might work is to weights ones stake in relation to the amount of rewards an account has taken from the ecosystem. Those that take the most would have their stake affected the most negatively. That way the status quo which give larger stake holders advantages would be more easily challanged like the witness vote retention for example.
My Dear! Whatever plagues the chain is what plagues the human mind. That is where it starts. Hive and Steem, Peakd into which I cannot sign in even with my Hive credentials, although I need a place, a home from which I express the Universe's point of view.
The whole system - blockchain and its interfaces - are better than what H.S. had 20 years ago. But no cake, yet.
What the fuck we need is a blockchain and interface that are accessible to everybody, but as You stated, bring in an algorithm, or simple statistics as to who it really is, that moves forward, or better upward on an evolutionary scale, so to speak. To not see this inability to come together and create a really breathtaking (no pun intended) communications network that each and every member of the species can peruse to make the most ot of their lives in terms of sense, meaning, fulfillment, enlightenment.
As tough, or sad as it may sound, but first we must 'fix' the collective insanity before we ever arrive at what You and I and a number of other visionaries can clearly see. Most clearly. And to make that equally clear - without a large enough number of dedicated and determined people to bring about urgently needed improvements for the ways it us done right now. Snitched on, spied on, manipulated - obviously - but also preserved - theoretically - for eventual future generations to see as clearly, who the real cocksuckers of our time are.
Apparently it is not possible to figure that out under the influence of it.
Target Fascination is m new fascination...
Update: The very moment I wrote the last sentences, iTunes played the words of Chief Seattle by Büdi Siebert. "The white man always wants to sell something."
White Man always wants to SELL something. That is his mental illness. Without addressing that, nothing can get better - ever.
So true! Capitalism's race after profit is the cause of most of our woes.
Capitalism without substance and built on planned obsolescence must go down into the hole where all the stuff goes that stinks to the heavens.
