The LeBron James Corporate Equity Manifesto

in #satire7 years ago

I am LeBron James and I endorse the following message. The recent racism scandal unfolding at Google has uncovered a white supremacist fascist movement and neo-Nazi cell forming within Silicon Valley, where white cis male tech workers have long dominated the workplace. While Silicon Valley makes no secret of their public shame about the lack of diversity among their employees and has gone to great lengths to assure the public that their policies and culture are not racist, time and time again we see that no real change happening within this culture. These beta male public virtue signalling cis scum secretly worship the far right philosophy associated their vocal hero James Damore, who currently serves as one of their philosophical spokespeople wielding his anti-diversity screed that desperately tries to pass as a manifesto.

When the former Googler successfully disseminated his manifesto amongst his secretly supportive coworkers, the success of his political act revealed to the world a very embarrassing secret long held by those in power in leftist Silicon Valley. It's an idea that all upper middle class Americans living on the West coast fear in the back of our minds, but are too afraid to come forward with and admit in polite company: that progressive tech giants such as Google, Facebook, Amazon and Apple, companies that largely define not only our economy but our international image and cultural values, harbor deep racism down to the very bones of how these organizations are structured. For example, almost all CEOs of the Fortune 500 companies are white cisgender males. And even more imporantly, most of the far wealthier shareholders of these mega corporations are white cisgendered men as well. This era must come to an end, if for no other reason than because diversity is at the root of their corporate culture as well as their bottom line.

These companies will be the first to practice censorship of the language involved with fascism, yet remain the frontrunners for the practice of white supremacist cisgender fascism in all but name. And all but name is their very tactic, their method of avoiding detection and cleverly eliding their identity as the true center of fanatical white supremacy and fascist fantasy run wild. Google, Twitter and Facebook will be the first to censor non-socialistic ideals, yet they are always the first to block socialist and egalitarian ideals from making headway within their own companies. A company can only tout egalitarianism as part of their corporate culture for so long until their employees begin to view themselves as equal members of a company who deserve equal ownership of that company's equity.

Social reform is only the beginning. The real work waiting to be done is in actual economics, in restructuring the blueprint of the very ownership structure of these companies and how they will distribute profit equitably to their employees. The secret boardrooms that the average employee at Facebook or Google will never see consist of the very Heads of State of cisgendered manhood they so rabidly resist: those venture capitalists that you never hear about or see, and the millions of cisgendered successful males they represent in the stock market. While these top multibillion tech company employees distract themselves with talk of social diversity among their workforce, they miss the elephant in the room: the lack of equitably distributed company ownership and the lack of diversity represented among company shareholders, who typically fall fallest behind in terms of direct company ownership.

If social equity and mere social inclusion is so important to our corporate values, shouldn't the definition of equity extend to economic issues as well? Is economic equity not just as, if not far more important than social equity? How is it enough to simply take down statues or attend public protests or even punch Nazis in the face? It may garner a lot of media attention in the short run, but it's definitely not going to provide a viable long-term solution to cis white male fascism. It's time we put the soft power of cultural concerns behind us and confront these Nazis head-on in the real world, in the very boardrooms they inhabit and rule the world from.

Why? Because as either employees or consumers of these companies, we can demand it. We can decide to gather outside the doorsteps of Google and Facebook rather than the statues of long-dead men who are not shaping our world this very moment. The CEO of nearly every major forture 500 company is headed by a literal cisgender white supremacist fascist, yet their P.C. indoctrinated employees and liberal consumers do nothing about it, much less seem to notice it. Increasingly these companies, the most powerful companies in the world, fund campaigns for inclusion of POC and other minority groups without ceding any real ground on what matters the most: control and power over the global economy. Maybe it's time for a company with a charismatic CEO like Facebook who professes to embody the ideal Social Justice Warrior mentality to tackle the greatest diversity issue of all time by embracing the stance of equity right down to the very economic model their empire is built upon.

As Kropotin once said, “All things for all men, since all men have need of them, since all men worked to produce them in the measure of their strength, and since it is not possible to evaluate everyone's part in the production of the world's wealth... All is for all!“ Megan in business acquisition may bring her personal financial savvy to the table, while Bertrand in accounting may add his meticulous discipline and 20 year company devotion, while Sandra plays the ultimate corporate rockstar and social cheerleader in her role within Human Resources. And while the hours that they spend working at the company can be objectively measured by a clock, all of that subjective value is lost because it cannot be objectively measured in terms of data points on a spreadsheet or amount of hours clocked on company time. Former slave, abolitionist and philosopher Frederick Douglass best penned this sentiment when he said “I didn't know I was a slave until I found out I couldn't have the things I wanted.” It is time for Facebook employees and other workers at glossy progressive tech companies to put their actions where their words are, and stand up for what they truly want: equity in every sense of the word.

Because of the enourmous coordination required for such a massive undertaking in economic and political revolution, it makes strategic sense to target a highly visible, singular company whose financial assets are as powerful as its social and political power. The first companies that may come to mind are giants like Google, Amazon, Target, Facebook, and especially Overstock since their CEO recently delved into narcissistic messianic behavior, attempting to embody the spirit of Karl Marx and John D. Rockefeller simultaneously while peddling altcoins as both the revolution for all and a lottery for one. But clearly Zuckerberg is our best target since peddling social justice through social media is the very definition of his job and he happens to be the physical embodiment of the oppressive cisgender white male hate-riarchy, even as he desperately attempts to separate himself from his own mirror image.
