After a long period of hibernating - SB-Chronicles Prompt #4

in #sb-chronicles3 months ago (edited)

Hello guys.. It's been a long time since I was here.

So, where should I begin?

When I first joined here, the first group I became part of was @SilverBloggers, and it has always felt like family to me. Why? The people here have been incredibly welcoming and friendly, so I think it’s only fitting to start here once again.

And I'm also grateful for there is this sb-chronicles, as it gives me a great starting point. The topic for this prompt is:

Tell us a fun story about how you learnt to drive a car, or ride a bicycle...

I’m not entirely sure if I can say that I truly learned to ride a bicycle. I first attempted it at the age of 12 during one of our vacations in Tarlac. My mom's co-teacher always invited us during my childhood.

The bike that I used to use back then was a BMX bike.

However, the bike I had was not as fancy as this one. It was a bit worn out and didn’t have a hand brake, so I had to use my feet to stop whenever I needed to.

When I first met the kids, they were already playing with their bikes, and I felt like a total newbie. They kindly let me borrow one of the bikes I had been describing, and I was thrilled for my first ride. They helped me learn how to use the bike, and after a while, I got the hang of balancing on it.

One of the kids suggested we have a race, and I eagerly agreed, not realizing there was a cliff at the end of the road. As the race began, I hurried to be the first to reach the finish line. Suddenly, I heard someone shouting, “Stop! Stop! You have to stop now! There’s a cliff in front of you!” All the kids were laughing as I stood there, flustered, staring at the cliff.

That’s how I learned to ride a bike, but I never actually owned one myself, and it's been 6 years since I last rode a bike and by the way, every time I rode a bike I always ended up having blisters and scratches on my knee so I guess bike is not for me.

Thank you @silverbloggers for making my come back an easy one for me. Will be looking forward for more #sb-chronicles.

What a gorgeous biking trail. Maybe I should get back on the bike. I used to do a lot of biking on roads growing up, but I am scared to to that now because of distracted drivers looking at their mobile phones! Maybe I should stick to trails!

now am wishing to have one and get back to learning it again.. maybe this time, I'll not end up with bruises and scratches hehe and yes do stick on the trails to be safe

First of all @eylz619 it is great to have you back, don't forget we need to post in a community, so am going to crosspost this to Silver Bloggers and let @coquicoin know you are back.
So I take it you don't ride a bike anymore.
I am impressed, here we all learnt on little bikes with stabilisers. I did have my fair share of scrapes which I am sure that I will write about it.

it's been a while that I've been away from here and I forgot that I need to post it in the community. thanks for the reminder mister...

yep.. haven't ride for a long long while now... and now that am living on the south think maybe I can give it a try again.

@coquicoin sis!!! how are you?

hehe it just is getting back into the habit is all.
Ever thought about an e-bike?

hmmm I did but ebike is not allowed on hi-ways and no fun at all. Bike is for much better for our body hehehe

hehe you have an ebike? Oh yes bike is better especially if you fall off!
