Mentorship is where a person is allowed to be influenced by another person in his decisionmaking in life. In the mentorship role, the mentor also severs as a role model.
For someone to succeed in life that person must have a mentor.
For example, King Solomon who one of the greater King who succeeded in his kingship was mentor by His father King David. He keeps heed to the words of his father so that he can succeed in his reign.
In 1 Chronicles 28:9,
And you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father and serve Him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind. For the LORD searches all hearts and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts. If you seek Him, He will be found by you. But if you forsake Him, He will cast you off forever.
In the scripture above, David was instructing his son Solomon how to become successful in his kingship: these are some of the keynotes David mentioned;
1. Whom do you know
2.serving with a perfect heart and
a willing heart.
3. Seeking him.
