Going through the whole book of 1 Corinthians 13, there are many good things we can do for God and our fellow men; speak with tongues, teach mysteries and knowledge, have all faith, give all our goods to feed the poor, and even sacrifice our lives in service to humanity but without a true heart that loves God and people, we are worthless.
Do you truly love people?
1Corinthians 13:13
KJV:And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
AMP:And so faith, hope, love abide [faith—conviction and belief respecting man’s relation to God and divine things; hope—joyful and confident expectation of eternal salvation; love—true affection for God and man, growing out of God’s love for and in us], these three; but the greatest of these is love.
Men see your actions but God sees your motives. All our services to God and humanity must be because we love them just as Jesus Christ first loved us. We can do a lot of good things, but God insists it must come from a heart that truly values God and people.
"For the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart". (1Samuel 16:7b).
Every child of God has the love of God inside him, shed abroad by the Holy ghost (Romans 5:5). We have the love of God, so let's share it with a hurting world. Don't give place to anger, criticism, envy, jealousy, bitterness, hatred and unforgiveness.
There are enough critics in the world already. Be a voice of love and encouragement. Love is God's nature and it is the sign that we are his children. Jesus, coming to die for the sins of the world is God's greatest show of love for man. Therefore we must spread this gospel of salvation to all men.
Conclusion
We are God's love links to the world, let us explode forth in true words and acts of love and kindness. No force can resist the power of true love; God's love. It is the greatest.!
Prayer Focus
Lord, Baptist me afresh with your love and make me a flame of help and hope to my world. In Jesus name, Amen.
