Jesus washes the feet of his disciples
13 Before the Feast of the Passover, Jesus knowing that his hour had come to pass from this world to the Father, as he had loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.
2 And when they were eating, as the devil had already put in the heart of Judas Iscariot, son of Simon, to deliver him up,
3 Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God, and God was going,
4 He got up from supper, and took off his robe, and taking a towel, he girded it.
5 Then he put water in a basin, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which he was girded.
6 Then he came to Simon Peter; and Peter said to him, Lord, do you wash my feet?
7 Jesus answered and said to him, What I do, you do not understand now; but you will understand later.
8 Peter said to him, You will never wash my feet. Jesus answered him: If I do not wash you, you will not have part with me.
9 Simon Peter said to him: Lord, not only my feet, but also my hands and my head.
10 Jesus said to him, "He who is washed needs only to wash his feet, for everything is clean; and you are clean, though not all.
11 Because he knew who was going to deliver him; That is why he said: You are not all clean.
12 So, after he had washed their feet, he took his robe, returned to the table, and said to them, "Do you know what I have done to you?
13 You call me Teacher, and Lord; and you say well, because I am.
14 For if I, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet.
15 For I have given you an example, so that as I have done to you, you also do.
16 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his master, neither is the envoy greater than the one that sent him.
17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.
When Jesus took the towel and the basin to wash the feet of his disciples, he not only assumed the humble role of the servant, but also evidenced psychological security, essential in a leader. The lifestyle and lessons of Jesus establish the model for a new class of leader, the servant-leader (Matthew 20.26-28).
The servant leader fulfills his functions sure of himself, that is, knowing what God has entrusted to him, and resting in the confidence that the hand of God commands his personal destiny.
The pious leader is one who leans to help others, who considers others above himself, who places his life for others, who seeks to serve before being served.
As long as a person is not willing to wash the feet of others, he is not qualified to be a leader of the kingdom.
As Christians we must reflect on the safety and humility of a servant-leader.
In addition we must also deepen the teaching that Jesus wanted to show to all his followers.
Since we invite you to use:

@elion very good reflection and worthy of being imitated, in addition to deepening in its context for the servant-leader.
