1 I also recommend our sister Febe, who is a deaconess of the church in Cencrea; 2 that you receive it in the Lord, as it is worthy of the saints, and that you help her in whatever she needs from you; because she has helped many and myself. Romans 16: 1-2, King James Version (NIV)

Without a doubt, Febe was a radiant minister of the Gospel and assistant to our brother Paul. "Febe" means "pure or radiant like the moon."

It is clear that, through Febe, the light of Jesus Christ shone brightly, because Paul calls her not only a servant of the church but also one that has helped many.

Some Bible scholars believe that it was Sister Febe who brought the manuscript of the Romans to the congregation of that city. This is consistent with Psalm 68:11, which says women should give the good news of God: "The Lord gave the word; there was a great multitude, of which they had good news."

In our day, multitudes of women, licensed or ordained, and prophetesses help bring the gospel to the world.

In the church where I congregate are the women who carry the prison ministry under their responsibility. Every Thursday of each week they visit and evangelize in the prisons of the city where I live. This is a great example as the ministry of Sister Febe of which the apostle Paul gives a very good testimony of her.
