Hello friends of Steemit. Part of my culture and one of the many things I do, is to speak to my children of God. On this occasion, it has always attracted my attention and I have wondered what it means when people cross themselves.
Many bow when they enter the church, others when they pass near the church, when the day begins, also when they are praying, before going to sleep and even during confession.
But, because it is so important and what is its meaning?
The sign of the Cross is the noblest and most frequent gesture. It is a blessing
Make the sign of the cross on oneself and invoke at the same time the three persons of the Most Holy Trinity: in the name of the Father when touching the forehead, the Son when touching the chest, and the Holy Spirit when touching the shoulders.
The cross is the sign of the Christian because it was the object that God chose to give his life for our sins and open us to all the gates of heaven.
It is done to remember that Christ died for us, to praise the Son of God, testimony of our faith, to ask for the protection of Christ, to offer our sufferings and to thank above all for the blessings of God.
In the father's name, when touching the forehead
God is asked to occupy all his thoughts.
Of the son, when touching the chest
All feelings of his heart are consecrated to God
And the holy spirit, touching his shoulders
By touching his left shoulder, he offers all my sorrows and concerns
By touching his right shoulder, he is consecrated all his actions
