Freak of Nature?

in #scalyfootsnail6 years ago (edited)

One thing I've always been fascinated with, is the vast variety of life on our planet. By just going from one lake or river to another only 30 miles apart, the life there is inherently different. What's that phrase? Variety is the spice of life? Well, this snail here, likes it hot, and I mean super frig'n hot. I can do a jalapeno occasionally, but this one eats ghost peppers for breakfast. The most interesting part, is this sweet shell is not a genetic mutation but rather a genome (combination of genetic materials) that it has perfected over the past 500+ million years. I bet there are millions of other answers in the ocean yet too. Enjoy.
