In my opinion, I'd say that witch hunts, in general, are a bad thing. In the case of @matttrainer, it was pretty obvious, to me at least, that he was trying to scam steem users which is not acceptable and I'm glad that his post was completely shut down within 24 hours. However, it's important to remember events from other communities like the ones that unfolded on Reddit during the Boston Marathon terror attack which caused a flood of accusations across the site to a boy who was later found out to have committed suicide.
