Hello. My name is Simgirl and I would like to share a few helpful hints to use for writing posts and fiction with ease and style. I have been writing since before I knew how to write. I would invite my mother into my room to hear the stories I wrote. She would acted amazed, even though I probably sounded very childish.

English is a very hard language to master, and I had a very hard time with it. I once spelled "if" wrong on a spelling test. When I started writing there were no computers really. I started writing by hand, and then by typewriter, and finally years later I was able to type away on a computer.

That's when I discovered Microsoft Word

This is my first tip. If you want to write a great story, or well-written post and have access to a word processing program like Microsoft Word, use it. The program used to be free when you bought Windows, but now you have to pay for it. There are other free versions if you look for them.

These programs help in the way of grammar, spelling, and context. Microsoft Word also has a thesaurus. You can right-click a highlighted word and the program will give you suggested words that mean the same thing as the word you highlighted.

This comes in handy when the only adjectives you know are common and you want to impress your readers with your vocabulary!

My second tip is to GIVE YOUR WORDS SPACE!

If you were writing a novel and you were trying to make 25000 words within 10 chapters, I would advise you to use as much space on the page that you could.

But blogs are much more condensed and even short fiction should be 2000 words or less.

Writing short fiction on a blog doesn't give you much room to roam, but it will give you a long list of written work that you can use to showcase your writing talent.

When writing fiction be sure that you use the spaces in between paragraphs. this makes the writing easier to read.

Don't be afraid to give one sentence all the room, (for dramatic effect).

The third tip I would give would be to play the "what if" game.

What if there was a lady at the bus stop? What if it started to rain? What if there was no shelter? What if a stranger offered to share their umbrella? What if that stranger wound up being her long lost cousin?

Your story is only as good as your imagination. If you are already a paranoid person, then you would be great at writing fiction. All it takes is a little imagination to bring a story to life. What if all we had to do was put our hands on the computer and the words wrote themselves? What if we weren't aloud to edit the story until the end?

So, how do you edit? Some people edit while they are writing, others wait until the words are done flowing before they go back to fix anything.

Either way is fine. Some things you will catch while writing, such as a missed comma or a misspelled word, but there are other subtle mistakes you may not see until you take a second look.

Sometimes you won't see them after 20 looks.

Sometimes it's better to have another set of eyes to point out your mistakes, such as a hired editor.

When writing your blog, you are the editor, and unless you are entering a contest with a deadline, or have a limited amount of time to write, my last tip is to take the time to edit.

Look for words that are spelled right such as won, but used wrong. If you meant to type one, your reader will be confused.

Look at the beginning words of each of your paragraphs. Do they all start with the same phrasing? If they do, try to think of other ways to start the sentence without using the same words over and over.

Look for overused adjectives. If everything in your story is pretty or great, then your reader will never know how beautiful or awesome those nouns can be. If you notice yourself using the same adjectives over and over, seek a thesaurus and learn some new words.

Look for the word "it". It is easy to say, 'he took it to the place once he was done." and know what you are talking about, but does your reader? who is he? what is it? where is the place? What was he done doing? There's a lot of holes in this simple sentence. Find your holes and fill them~

"Jason took the fruit basket to the church after he was done mowing the lawn." (Much Better)

Look for the 5 senses.

Every scene in your story should embrace the reader. you don't want to explain what happened, you want to show what happened. You want them to feel what your main character is feeling. When you are editing make sure you include all 5 senses.

What did they see? What did they hear? What did they smell? what did they taste? What did they feel?

The more senses you can describe in your writing, the better.

Hi lovely!

I see you have a copyright on your images - they look like they are the AI images that are created... Just want to be sure! hehehe because when you are submitting your posts to DreemPort, we need to always see the sources of your images - OR - see a statement that the images are yours, unless otherwise stated :) (and the copyright would suffice - if that is INDEED what you are saying hahahaha)

Also -we've created this banner! Feel free to use this any time you're submitting to DreemPort with the proper citations added if you use cc0 images as well!

We ONLY need to see the words "all images are mine" (or your copyright for your own images) on the post. So you don't NEED to use the banner hehe.
The banner is only if you LIKE it! hehehe

If we don't have the sources cited - sorry, we need to reject it from dreemport :(

We are screening this in today though! hehehe because I do believe that your images with the copyright is you saying that you created them yourself - (but would love if you would verify that for me too! hahahaha)

and here is one for girls hahahahha

How do we cite the banner??

ah you can just say "banner used with permission from DreemPort". or something like that! hehehe

The strategy of the" what if game " prevails with suspense and questions so it helps extending the creativity in the story. Agreed that proofreading should be done with 5 senses apart from the sense of the keyboard lol. Can I give you a suggestion, the image showing the tips having the red font doesn't look easy to read the statement as it's bright or anything other issue but just a suggestion if you could change it. Welcome to Dreemport😍
