It's been a while since a read a book. I threw my hands up in exasperation in 2009 and left the literary world to its own device. I shall now see if there are any neurons left in my brain after spending the past few years on the internet...Anyone is welcome to join me in this read. I'll attempt to post on it once a week on the weekends and try to cover a chapter a week.
The intro: well, pretty much everything is asymmetrical! Yes, indeed, evolution (natural selection which is a fact) is asymmetrical, too...There are those at CERN exploring the inner world of physics while at the same time there are unknown tribes somewhere in a dense jungle that has never met us.
It looks like modernity might have suffered a hi-jacking and there is an imposter behind the wheel! We'll see, it looks like an interesting read!
Haha, and the pic will give a hint at my location:) I'm a real person and not a bot or an imposter...It would be nice if you were real, too, especially if you'd like to read this book with me--if you're not real and you're an imposter then please don't bother, although bots are fine to join in as long as they are honest about who they are...
Ha yeah looks interesting .. count me in dude :) Kind of ties in with an idea I wrote about two opposing evolutionary paths (organic/synthetic) the synthetic/transhumanism etc etc etc.. being the manipulation and a kind of takeover of the natural order (bio-sphere) .. attempted anyway. I will probably expand that idea at some point as I have been looking into some pretty freaky new technology .. I can definitely manage a chapter a week and it sounds pretty interesting :)

In the first chapter, he makes a caveat that he doesn't hold definitive positions on the two main streams of thought on this issue: material monism and Descartes mind/body dualism. I agree with him! We don't know.
I've been musing to myself that the reason we don't know is because it's not there! Consciousness is an illusion!lol Okay, just having a bit of fun...
