Is it hit piece on @garytaubes, @NuSi, or something else entirely?
Disclaimer: think what you will about The Energy Balance Consortium (Hall's study) or DIETFITS, but I don't think either were "bad" studies. In fact, I think they were well-designed studies. They were NOT designed to determine which was the diet to rule them all.
Disclaimer #2: "At my one encounter with Taubes I told him I did not believe in luxus consumption and he explained how he understood ketone body metabolism, only to prove to me that he didn't." -one of my mentors from Rutgers University - a true wizard of nutritional biochemistry and physiology who has forgotten more intermediary metabolism than I've ever known. Just kidding he's gotta be about 70 years old and hasn't forgotten a thing!
And also, they criticized "What if It's All Been a Big Fat Lie?" by Taubes which has a special place in my heart because it's one of the first papers we were asked to critique during my first year in graduate school. If you're unfamiliar with the carbs/fat/industrial foods debate, this is one of the early pieces that started it off.
