This project produces a narrative description of the design and construction of a microcontroller-based dot matrix advert display. Computer-aided design is the modelling of a physical system on Computers allowing both interactive and automatic analysis of design variant and the expression of design in a form suitable for manufacturing.

This follows by explaining the microcontroller based dot matrix advert display as a device which is fast gaining wide acceptance and application in the present days due to its ability to provide a very high precision timing. The dot matrix advert display can be described as an electro-mechanical system processing information in which the information is represented by physical quantities, which are so constrained to take only discrete values that can be referred to as binary signals.

AIM AND OBJECTIVES
This work aims at the design and construction of a Bluetooth enabled LED display Board.

The objectives of this project are thus:
An arrangement of 32x 8 dot matrixes using LEDs
Usage of Bluetooth device for sending information to be displayed.
Using LED Driver MAX7219 as an LED multiplexer.
To implement an open modular architecture that can be easily upgraded to suit the Specification of producers and manufacturers.
We hope that after going through this work, one should have a better understanding of the basic principles of the self-Programmable electronic display board.

SIGNIFICANCE OF STUDY

In all field of human endeavour, electronic digital display system plays a very vital role, such as means of advertisement, means of communication, presentations, exhibitions, identification and direction. It is also used in giving warning or safety instructions, such as warning signs, traffic signs, exit signs or signs conveying rules and regulations. This project write-up will be a guide to future designing of a related work.
Preliminary investigation prior to designing this project, I discovered the importance, and need for a system such as this in the society. I also found out that a very large number of establishments do not have its kind due to the high cost and complexity associated with the digital display board, as earlier highlighted. Microcontroller based dot matrix advert display system is used in electronic scoreboard during football matches to display when a goal is scored, also to display the name of that player who scored the goal. Above all, this system will contribute a lot in boosting advertisement.

The LED signboard is very slim and lightweight in design. LED light source, lower power consumption. Ultra slim & ultra-light. Top designs for show window and guide board. This LED signboard is ideal for advertising or displaying purpose. The signboard allows you to display your advertising messages, product images at prominent places.

LIMITATIONS

This project is not a new technology or invention of design, but rather it is more of a prototype of an already existing design it would display alpha-numeric characters only. It does not have the capacity to display graphic pictures, animation of any kind or motion pictures (video). It does not also have the capacity for sound production.
