Why I do get dark circles under my eyes

in #science7 years ago

So stay awake to read the science behind the dark circles
Now the why dark circles happen Is just like your wrist the blood vessels look blue or green because different wavelengths of light interact with your skin and blood vessels in different ways so more blue light is reflected towards our eyes. The area under your eyes appears darker because the skin is thinner and it doesn’t have any fat over there that means more tiny blood vessels can show through. People with darker skin have a pigment called melanin in their skin and in some conditions they produce more melanin under their eyes a condition called periorbital hyperpigmentation so based upon the thickness of your skin and the genetics you might stuck with dark circles. But there are somethings you can do to make them worse so people blame tiredness to their dark circles and there is a correlation see when you are tired or stressed your body produces more of a hormone called cortisol to get more glucose into your bloodstream to give you the energy to stay awake over time cortisol constricts some blood vessels and dilates others.so it is possible that the vessels under your eyes get bigger which means darker eye circles AND AS WE GET OLDER OUR SKIN GETS THINNER AND THE EYE CIRCLES GET DARKER
