The moon has apparently been split and justified through scientific research. The book 'Miracles of Al-Qur'an & As-Sunnah' reveals that fact based on scientist research and Qur'anic verses.
In the book was told the experience of Dawud Musa Pidcock, a British man who converted to Islam for knowing the verses at the beginning of Surah Al Qamar.
Narrated in 1978, Pidcock watched a television show on space travel. In the event, a famous British broadcaster James Burke interviewed three American space scientists.
In the event, they discuss about the first time humans landed on the surface of the Moon. Reportedly, this space travel has cost more than 100 billion dollars. The scientists went on to say that this journey has succeeded in finding a scientific fact.
The fact they found that the Moon once split into two, then reunited. There is a lot of real evidence on the surface of the Moon that can explain this.
In a separate explanation, scientist Tom Watters of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum said there was a fault on the moon called the Scarp Lobate. It is believed that this fracture occurs due to the moon's crust material that pushes each other to cause cracks.
Thus, it indicates that something causes the Moon to experience contraction or depreciation.
The moon was once split mentioned in one of the verses of the Qur'an. The splitting of the moon is one of the most obvious miracles to strengthen the prophethood of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).
It is near the time and has split the Moon. And if they see a sign (miracles), they turn away and say: '(This is) a continuous magic'. And they deny (the Prophet) and follow their lusts, while every business has been established. [Surah Al Qamar Verses 1-3.]
Early Moon Shines
The book of 'Science in the Qur'an' written by Nadiah Thayyarah reveals that once the moon was shining God turned off its light.
And We made the night and the day as two signs, then We wiped the mark of the night and We made the sign of the day light, that ye should seek the gift of your Lord, and that ye may know the number of years and calculations. And everything We have explained clearly. [Surah Al Isra 'Ayat 12.]
The verse shows the existence of a new scientific fact that can be known to the people in the 20th century, namely that the moon was originally a flaming planet. The Qur'anic guidance on this subject is quite clear.
Recent astronomers have discovered that the moon was initially lit up, then its light disappeared and it became an inanimate object.
