Water Bears a creatures capable of surviving in space

in #science7 years ago (edited)

Has it occurred to them that the human being is able to survive high or low temperatures? Or even be able to survive without any equipment in the immensity of outer space?

Maybe the day will never come when the human being is capable of that, but if there is a creature that can withstand almost all kinds of events and states. It is the water bear or as it is known the "tardigrade", a small creature that has this great ability, today I will speak a little of her.

The tardigrades even have the capacity to "revive", due to experiments that have been performed with them where they are not supplied with water to the point that they die, but then when the water is added again, they come back to life as if by magic it will be treated.

In 2007 as part of a space experiment a group of these creatures were sent to the Earth's low orbit, therefore they were exposed to the space vacuum in addition to the ultraviolet radiation produced by the sun, as a result of the 10 days that were there when it was time to return them and to hydrate them, most of them came back to life and not only that but also managed to reproduce.

The "power" that the water bears have possibly comes from their DNA, because it is capable of healing at an incredible speed at the time of suffering some damage, is so much their resistance that can last 30 years without any food or liquid and not only that but they support temperatures that reach 150ºC and -200ºC. It is therefore possible that they can survive the transformation of the Sun to a red giant.

An animal that is able to withstand earthquakes, supernovae and even gamma rays, I am sure to leave astonished to more than one, since it is incredible the capacity that these tiny creatures have.
Studying how the DNA structure of water bears may possibly give us the answers to heal or combat diseases that affect us, they will undoubtedly be the ones left after the human being is extinguished.
