The Denver Gem and Mineral Show is absolutely one of my favorite times of year.
I am such a crystal geek!
I went to the show twice, because I was looking for some specific items of interest.
Day One - The hunt begins...

I was personally on a mission for a silver and turquoise ring.
(I found the most perfect ring for me, pics below...and it pains me to report that it has already gone missing. Sad sad. Boo.)
The coliseum was packed from the lower floor to the upper floors with everything from fossils and dinosaurs to designer art pieces made of crystal to light up an entire wall in someone's house and literally everything in between.
Some faves are depicted here.

Because, dinosaurs!
That is a real dinosaur fossil right there.
And there were more, too!

Of course I had to paw all over this one with my own hands.
Can you blame me?
Those teeth really got my attention!
I had to touch it! And was happy I got to!
Cave Bear Paws!

Texas Longhorns made of semi-precious gemstones

Edited to mention that I was mistaken about this skull. @amberyooper helped me identify this skull as buffalo. (Thanks @amberyooper!!)
Seahorses have always fascinated me!

Seahorse is one of the spirit animals of my totem.
This piece truly spoke to me.
I was tempted to touch. ^_^
Magnificence
I'm not even sure what you call this...

These are pieces made by an artist who designs light pieces that are massively cool.
And big, too!
Being in that room with all of those light pieces was surreal.
There was an underwater motif, including huge jellyfish and other colorful beings...
It was a tossup of being in outer space or somewhere deep in the abyss of the ocean.
I held a piece of the moon in my hand

What a feeling!
The moon.
My hand.
Yeah...I got to hold it.
That piece right there can be yours for only slightly over $12,000!
Sirens

I wanted to bring this lovely mermaid home with me.
I was so tempted to bust her out of that encasement!
(It is simply no place for such a creature!)
But alas, our time was not now...
More amazing wood work

Phantom quartz

Incredible fossils

There were so many, but this one in particular stood out for me.
It is a prehistoric alligator.
My birthstone

I love that amethyst is my birthstone and this piece blew me away.
I have always wanted a large piece such as this and plan to eventually acquire something like this for my home!
For now, I simply gawked and noted the price tag.
(This will be paid for, most likely, in some form of cryptocurrency! haha)
The most perfect find...

It is a men's size 8 vintage silver and natural turquoise stone with natural Siberian charoite and lapis lazuli.
This one came from the '70s, like yours truly.
(Since having obtained this gorgeous beauty, something bizarre has happened and it seems to have vanished somewhere.
I'm kind of miffed, to be honest. - Since it's basically a one of a kind, I'm putting out a reward for anyone who finds and returns it to me. If you should find my baby, hit me up and I'll be happy to make it reciprocal for you having returned it.)
He found what he was looking for!

I fell in love with this enhydro!
And as you can see, he was heavily engrossed in it. (That hasn't stopped yet either!)

You can see the movement in the water bubble, inside of his crystal.
You can see a brief clip of the movement of the enhydro in my DTube video...HERE.

I was not able to get his enhydro out of my head!
After we left, due to having massive crystal envy, I decided I would drag my buddies out to the gem and mineral show again!
And we went back, two days later.
I had to look for my own enhydros...
I searched high and low. I finally found what I was looking for! (They pretty much match the two small crystal spheres I carry with me most times, as of late.
The flash on it is incredible!

Labradorite is one of my go-to's!
I wear it often in things like my ear gauges, as well as my cufflinks and a ring.
I was excited to have found a screaming deal on this gorgeous labradorite obelisk. It is currently making the rounds around my home and personal ashram...being accessed constantly.
World's largest enhydro crystal

I even had a chance to see and touch what I'm being told is THE world's largest enhydro, which is this massive smoky quartz from Brazil.
It was way too big for me to move it around and see the action, but it was very cool to touch it.
I got awesome vibes surging through me throughout the entire two visits to the gem show, but it was really something else to get my hands on this big one!
Just like Indiana Jones!

This is the way I tend to geek out around crystals, so I'll just leave you on that note and this lovely image of massive shiva lingam that I couldn't stop touching!
(Those are the stones that were used in the movie, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.)
I made sure to photograph my Chucks, so you could get an idea of just how huge these are!

I hope you enjoyed my finds!
There were so many photos I snapped that it was a challenge to reduce it down to what I have shared here from my two days at the Denver Gem & Mineral show!
I will absolutely be enjoying my new pieces and also planning to attend, once again, next year!
Thanks for visiting my post!
Do you ever visit the gem show that comes to your area??
Let me know what you thought of the pieces, especially if you liked any in particular!
That is totally awesome!
I don't even know where to start with commenting....
I know what happened to your ring...the fairies saw it...you'll find it again in some weird place around the house.
That longhorn skull isn't a longhorn, it's buffalo skull. It's shaped quite differently from a cow skull.
I've been to the annual gem and mineral show in Tucson twice now in the last 6 or 7 years, it's totally awesome! I brought home several thing from those shows. :-)
You know what?
Your comment made my morning!
I have been telling myself that my guides have been up to the pranking Jakob stuff (it's a usual thing around here). I actually have some tiny little faeries that my spirit mama sees around me doing things just like you mentioned!
I definitely hope that the ring comes back to my finger. I am usually good about not being bummed over "attachments" such as this...I will admit, it made me a little sad though.
Ah! A buffalo! Yes! That makes more sense actually. I guess you can see I default to Texas-think (I grew up in in Houston and everything was Aggies or Longhorns and the natural association must be there). I will have to make a mention/edit!
I have always wanted to make the Tucson show! I lived out there for a short spell but missed it while I was out there at the time.
I would love to see some of your pieces if you're ever into sharing!
One of these days, I should do a post about the Tucson trip. I've been kind of shy about posting things from the past, but it seems to be ok to do that on steemit. I haven't seen anything negative about it, so I should do it.
I would enjoy seeing some of your finds from Tucson!
Yeah, I was reluctant to share things from the past, too, because of some of what I'd read. From what I gather, they're mainly trying to protect integrity and prevent plagiarism. (If I had that clarified for me enough in chats.)
I think for things that people would like to share, from their own life and experiences, it is fine.
I think you're probably right.
I like that you brought it up, by the way. I was at a meetup in Colorado Springs with some other steemians, this morning. One of the topics we were discussing was this very thing, about the "line" in terms of sharing things versus how some people simply come here to repost their YouTube videos or whatever they have published to other blogs.
I think it's good that the community is remaining conscious of how and why we share in this space. <3

Stunning pieces!
Thank you so much for having a look-see!
Wow those crystals though O_o So pretty ^_^ Amazing photos...love all of them :)
The show looks amazing. As a jewellery retailer I love discovering combinations and stones. I too bought a piece of turquoise and made a couple of necklaces out of it. We had a show last month called International Jewellery London.
