Weird Theories and Weird Universes

in #science2 years ago

Hello fellow science lovers, our universe is very strange. It looks different from the perspective of different theories. Our familiar universe is not familiar to us. The concepts of the universe are so weird that they drive me crazy. If all the theories are put together, you'll get dizzy and have a hard time deciding what the universe is really like. We still don't know much about the universe, which is why so many mazes are created. Science still has a long way to go, then everything will be clear to us. We cannot trivialize and fully accept the famous theories about the universe. One theory calls another theory wrong, and individually these theories seem right. Thus we see the universe in different ways at different times through the eyes of the theorists. Let's dive into the weird universe and start looking at the weird universe, through the eyes of the theorist.

We know that our universe is three dimensional. Everything around us, including us, is three-dimensional. It has length width and height. All objects around you like cubes, cylinders, pyramids, spheres, chair tables are all three dimensional. Three-dimensional objects can be rotated in space that we observe such as the Earth.

This means there are three perpendicular directions in which we can move. But the weird stuff starts now when some theories suggest another spatial dimension. It is a dimension that we cannot perceive directly. They say that there is another perpendicular direction. They call this higher dimensional space "bulk". Theorists think our universe is a three-dimensional membrane or "brain" floating inside the bulk. You start to wonder what kind of weirdness this theory suggests.

You can see two branes in this image, with an open string attached to the branes. source

Let's have some clear idea about this brane. brane theory The word brane comes from the word "membrane". In brane theory where the four space-time dimensions of the universe are mentioned above. These dimensions form a surface called a brane. Branes are objects in motion and have mass and charge.

String theory talks about the many dimensions where we think the universe is three-dimensional. There are so many dimensions to this theory that we cannot imagine. Now the question is why so much? This theory has beautiful mathematics with which so many dimensions have arisen in harmony. According to the theory again the number of dimensions is different. For example, Bosonic string theory is said to have 26 dimensions, while superstring theory has 10 dimensions with only one time dimension. Thus according to M_theory our universe has 11 dimensions Now see if all these ideas are strange? Ha ha ha But we take their theories seriously because they are very important.

You've heard of course the holographic universe theory. Although this theory is strange, theories about holograms are not new with researchers claiming to have evidence to prove this hypothesis. However, this theory makes a slightly different claim. In this data what we perceive as 3D reality is actually thought to be a 2D surface. This means that what we see and feel is an illusion according to this theory. If you have seen a hologram, check out the image below

The image you see in the above gif is 2D but for a digital hologram it looks like 3D. This theory tells us that a 3D image is encoded on a 2D surface. If you have seen 3D then you will understand the matter easily. 3D films show 2D objects as 3D from a flat 2D screen, which is the illusion of objects.

Years of experiments have not found proof of the holographic principle, although some scientists claim to have found proof. But no acceptable evidence has yet been found. Some solutions are derived from this theory such as the information paradox. The holograph theory states that gravity can be described in a lower dimension without gravity. This theory describes the quantum theory of gravity as a simple particle relationship without any gravity. Altogether this theory is a strange one.

Are we living in the universe of the so-called brane theory, or the hologram universe? Whereas string theory suggests the existence of multiple dimensions and hologram theory reduces one dimension to three dimensions. Again Albert Einstein's theory of relativity talks about four dimensions. Isaac Newton was also satisfied with three dimensions. Do you think these theories are weird? Or because of the strange universe scientists think in such a strange way. However, many strange theories have solved many problems throughout the ages.
