It is a lab test and is correlated in the same way as a positive PCR test is correlated to a virus infection. It can be a true causality, but if the levels are "mild and transient" as they say, it is clearly not the same.
But other studies found a more profound correlation with actual myocarditis, so overall the topic is very real and important and should not be pulled under the carpet.
