It's a shame that so many people do not understand what science is. It's not about choosing what you want to believe to suit how you want the world to be. They may not get it right the first time, but it gets better in time as evidence is found and theories are tested. Without science people would still be largely dying young and we would not have all this technology (the good and the bad). Scientists are people and thus flawed, but they are mostly dedicated people driven by the desire to know, not political ideology.
