We should fear AI!

in #science7 years ago

Everything human civilisation had worked for will be lost when the machines rise. It will render us useless because it will be better than us!

Let me explain myself before you get your tinfoil hats out! We, the human race, might face the biggest economic challenge ever seen in the next four years. Humans will lose most of their jobs as technology improves!

I did make a post about AI, Should we fear Artificial intelligence?, but here I dowelled on the concept of A.I killing us. But I did not consider the thought of A.I taking over our jobs and rendering us useless in even the most daunting of tasks!

I was guaranteed that AI will not be able to do a difficult task like thinking like a human. There is a problem with this statement, because a computer AI do not have to think like a human, it should only do a dedicated task better than a human to render a human useless.

In my algorithm post ,Did Algorithms makes us the superior life form? , I discussed the idea of solving all problems with small little steps. This concept mad big problems like driving cars, buying on the stock exchange and predicting what items a person would buy much easier to solve. I mean most of wall street’s stocks is being traded by bots, self driving cars can drive better and safer than humans because it does not get tired, frustrated or scared. No human can predict better content on a youtube website than it’s AI, especially if you consider the fact that millions of videos gets uploaded daily!

The problem with this type of automation is that it does not create more specialised jobs! It destroys jobs because most of the AI software and robotic technology can operate a division without the supervision of a human being! Machine learning can also help AI to learn out of unsuccessful attempts to do the job. This means that computers learn faster and better than any human can.

We can already see this loss of jobs with companies like Netflix, Amazon, Google etc. All these companies are highly profitable and have a fraction of the workforce employed compared to other less tech companies with the same size!

The only occupation I thought was safe was something creative! But I could not have been more wrong. AI bots these days are just as creative as humans, they can draw pictures, write music and even write articles! Yes news articles! Bots like Wibbitz, News Tracer and Buzzbot. These bots can create videos and dialog that is relevant and entertaining!

Now entertainment is somewhat of a lottery. Some creative articles get to be popular whilst the majority never gets to see the light of fame! Now imagine a bot creating millions of creative articles a week. It will have at least one thing that would outshine something a human made in three months!

No job is safe... There will be a large amount of jobs lost. This would mean more resources could be made but not distributed due to insufficient money. Let’s hope that a solution will be made and save most jobs for the majority growing population!

As always thanks for reading!

you should read about this

Yes it sounds good and most first world countries will be able to support it, but my country will not be able too! Thanks for sharing!

I think that most third world countries will suffer financially under AI and already does.

This is a cool post! Upvoted ;)

Thank you, I thought so too!

The future could be grim...lots of disruption happening in this space and it can only accelerate.

Yes it does, but one must try and stay positive, something that I should have mentioned in my post!

Reminds me of the movie Ex Machina

It is scary to think that machines is going to take over our jobs I really hope that is not the case because then we are working against ourselves. Is that clever?

Not sure! Thanks for commenting!

Nice post
