Sci-fi fans can get very attached to certain shows and become very emotional when they get cancelled.
As with many Sci-fi TV shows, if the ratings are bad, internal politics or just the creators being a dick, they will get cancelled. I have been a fan of several shows that have been cancelled and voiced my anger to the people responsible for there stupid decision.
With that said, here are 5 Sci-fi TV shows that need to come back.

5 – Caprica.
When the Battlestar Galactica TV series came to a close, fans wanted more, and their devotion to the franchise was rewarded with Caprica in 2009.
The new show was a semi spin off / prequel to Battlestar and was supposed to show us all the events leading up to the demise of the colonies. But Syfy being the utter tools that they are, decided to cancel only 19 episodes in after the ratings fell due to the show being aired out of order and at unusual times to make way for other, non Science Fiction programming. An all to familiar story in the world of TV.
Just as with Battlestar, character development was key to the storylines, with each episode leaving us wanting more. It was filmed in a similar fashion too with excellent cinematography, it also combined good story telling and action seamlessly in the futuristic yet old world they had created.

4 – Ascension.
Imagine being stuck on a generational space craft that was launched in the 50's full of scientist, on route to our nearest star. Or so you think.
This futuristic setting incorporated with 50's quirks was a fantastic new spin on science fiction. A group of scientist are stuck on a ship that they believe is flying through space, when in fact they are still on earth with every advancement they make being used for military and consumer use. And the mysteries that arise during the show, just makes it all that more immersive as you get to know the characters as they develop with each episode.
Even though this was initially a mini series consisting of only 6 episodes, fans soon started asking for more after the awesome yet cliff hanger ending. We want to know what is next for the crew.

3 – Other Space.
I suppose in a way we did get another comedy Sci-fi parody show in the form of the Orville, but its predecessor Other Space was funny in an altogether different way.
An unwilling, young and very inexperienced crew is thrown into the deep end as they explore deep space and having to overcome various challenges such as food, fuel shortages, android rebellions, alien encounters and more.
Almost every scene you are laughing your ass off and the puns, jokes and sarcastic comments roll out of the crews mouths and there actions that lead to more stupidity.
The show has been described as being an Americanised version of Red Dwarf, the original space comedy. After only 8 episodes, the show was never renewed for a second season and no one knows why. So we may get another season yet...

2 – Firefly.
Quite possibly the biggest uproar for a sudden cancellation of a Sci-fi show in history happened when Fox yet again made stupid decisions.
This show follows the lives of a crew aboard the Serenity as they try to make a living after a long civil war, of which they were on the losing side. Taking various jobs to make ends meat gave us an adventure each week. The characters were all instantly likeable and the way in which it was filmed made for some of the best entertainment in Sci-fi history.
The amount of grief Fox got from fans of the show was so much, they ended up giving us a film to at least give the show a proper ending, but it still wasn't enough. If fox had aired the show in the correct order and at a steady time slot each week, the ratings would have been just as high as the 1st episode and we would have had a few more seasons out of it.

1 – Stargate Universe.
Quite possibly the best Science fiction show to date and an excellent twist on one of the most popular TV franchises ever.
The show is based on an unwilling crew consisting of scientist, military politicians and civilians, stranded on board an ancient ship called the destiny that is literally falling apart and is over a billion light years away from home. They have to learn to get along and work with each other, overcome obstacles such as finding a mineral to help filter the air system on the ship, look for food and water, learn how to use the ships controls, fight off and work with various alien species just to survive.
The character development and cinematography is some of the best I have ever seen and the acting is second to non. The emotions and feelings are conveyed over perfectly and you get a true feeling of what they are all going through.
Syfy, being the complete and utter cock wombles that they are, cancelled the show due to low ratings after they moved the shows time to make way for Wrestling... fucking ass bandits the lot of them. To make matters worse, season 2 ended on a huge cliff hanger with one of the shows main and lovable characters, Eli, having to either fix a stasis pod, die willingly from suffocation or live and risk killing the entire crew. Talk about suspenseful, the ending made fans every where want more, to this day, we are still wanting more and Syfy refuse to answer fans of the show, despite a blockbuster film in 94, despite SG1 having 10 seasons, despite SG Atlantis having 7 seasons, despite a 3 season cartoon, despite over a million signatures on a petition to either continue the show or give us a movie length episode to determine what happened to the crew and ultimately Eli. Sfy you wankers.

Its a shame that some of our favourite shows get cancelled and to some, makes us feel empty not knowing what happens next.

Some great shows, although I hadn't heard of Ascension. Some of the best shows just seem to get the axe. It's a constant source of fan frustration.
Stargate SG-1 was my day to day series I didn't fuly understand but enjoyed a lot when I was younger.

I used to love Battlestar Gallactica - a great series. Also V - showing my age a bit but that was one fine series. Bring back the oldies I say!
