So many people are deluded and misinformed. Not their fault, right? Exposure to wrong knowledge is a very scary thing.

Perhaps. I think it is part of being human.

What I find even more frightening is the apparent widespread inability to separate "wrong" knowledge from factual knowledge. Sadly, "Common" sense isn't so common any more.
