While it not only should, but has led to distrust of lying government agents and agencies, there are innumerable examples of lying scientists and associations, institutions, and even reputable and vaunted journals. JAMA, NEJM, Nature, Cell, and many, many more have published deadly drivel, and much worse, censored factual reports. People are right to distrust science and scientists, because the field has largely abandoned the forthright discussion (as much as it ever featured it) and ever more features paid shills that lie for money.
It isn't only governmental organizations, but NGO's, international associations, and regional as well, right down to local. Wherever the lie could be paid for and scumbags bought up, 'safe and effective', 'zoonotic source', and the scams of masks, social distancing, and the rest of the totalitarian scheme was promoted. The WHO, the UN, the AMA, the APA, you name it, it was bought and paid for, to lie and kill us with lies.
No institution is worthy of trust. They never have been, but now we have proof that trusting institutions is a fatal mistake. Now, more than ever before, we need to ourselves do the work to understand disease, medicine, law, education, nutrition, and vet our service providers to ensure we aren't bamboozled by a paid hack that might get us killed. This is why bizarre theories are now almost impossible to prevent, and Flat Earth, No Moon Landing, Chemtrails (to which there is some truth of weather modification), and so on, are burgeoning. Stupid people have learned the alarming fact that scientists and governments are murderous profiteers, and will happily kill them for a couple hundred bucks. Unable to trust professionals anymore, and incapable of understanding science, they flock to any demagogue with a slick pitch and buy what they're selling.
Every formerly trusted institution, church, school, police, hospitals, you name it, they have all demonstrated criminal corruption and can no longer meet the need for services they arose to fulfill. Even very intelligent people are incapable of managing all these needs by their own capacity, and stupid people are wildly flailing. We need trustworthy organizations, and don't have them. Some are up and coming, Children's Health Defense, homeschooling is coming back, alternative media voices rising, but not all such necessary social services can be peacefully recreated. Some of these corrupted bastards will have to hang before the corruption can be eliminated.
Oh, and to dismiss Howard's ravings you only need to restate multiplication verbally to understand he is completely wrong. We've been taught to say 'one times one equals one'. Instead state the problem as 'one, one time, is one.' You can do this with any multiplication problem and get the correct answer.
