WHAT DO BACTERIA LOOK LIKE UNDER THE MICROSCOPE?

Have you ever wondered what those tiny living organisms that might actually make us suffer from all the alarming diseases and make us fear germs actually look like?
Have a look at these bacteria under a light microscope:

• Gram positive bacteria:

These are gram positive rods, which we call bacilli. They usually cause Ear Infections, Meningitis, Bone infections even infections of the eye. Mind you, they do not spare your heart too.

These are gram positive cocci. They usually cause skin infections and sometimes pneumonia.
Did you know that food poisonings are actually caused by these bacteria?

• Gram negative bacteria:

These are gram negative bacteria. They usually cause pneumonia, diarrhea, meningitis.
They can even lead to Sexually Transmitted Diseases like Gonorrhea.

Could you differentiate between the gram positive and gram negative bacteria?
