How did you prepare the Phenyldiadzo compound it in the first place? By some kind of nucleophilic substituion? - Very nice chemistry you are doing. :D

Haha really nice! I glad that someone ask this XDDD
I first condense benzaldehyde with tosylhydrazine. I get then deprotonate the -NH on the tosylhydrazone with sodium hydride to give the sodium salt. Eventually, pyrolysis of this salt to give the diazo product which is quickly condensed with a short path distillation kit XDD
