Are there any Scotch whiskey connoisseurs in Steemit land? I thought I would share my
thoughts on Glemmorangie Signet, my favorite expression from the Glenmorangie distillery.
Glenmorangie is a distillery in Tain, Ross-shire, Scotland, that produces single malt Scotch whisky. Signet was designed as a non-age statement whiskey. The use of ex-sherry American white oak casks brings a different aroma into the whiskey. "Roasted malt"
The second specialty is that is used in the culmination of the final product, this imparts a "chocolate" profile. Bottled at 46% ABV (Alcohol by volume)
Glenmorangie put a lot of thought into the presentation of this whiskey. The bottle is presented in a wooden box and the bottle possesses very elegant proportions. The cork stopper is made of metal and is hefty in your hand like a paper weight. Golden off-set print on the front of the bottle. This presentation would make for a wonderful gift for a very special person or for a very special occasion.
On the nose: Sherry influence- Oloroso Sherry to be sure. Dark fruits, ginger and a little cinnamon-one of my favorites. Cocoa also
coming up in the nose. Vanilla sweetness.
Taste: An extraordinary mouth feel. Although it is bottled at a higher ABV, there is no alcohol burn. Mouth watering, oranges, oak.
A light friendly spiciness. A little milk coffee and toffee in the end. A little dryness in the after taste.
This is a wonderful piece of work designed from the ground up to be a very special experience. If you are a Scotch enthusiast or just curious, you cannot go wrong with this intriguing bottle. Sláinte!

I used to live there. Often drove past the Glen Morangie distillery. It's a nice drop but I don't think I could afford the Signet. Slàinte mhath!
